Ron Genske

Since 2000, Ron has served Croix Oil Company’s ExxonMobil customers. In his position as Brand Manager for ExxonMobil accounts, he has helped our customers optimize inside-sales margins, build fleet accounts, obtain and award educational grants, negotiate beneficial terms with convenience store vendors and implement ExxonMobil programs and procedures. Ron has worked more than 20 years in the petroleum/convenience store industry and has 25 years of retail management experience. Ron utilizes this substantial work experience to benefit his customers by providing them with useful advice, as well as hands-on assistance.

Nancy Grosskrueger

Administrative Specialist – Pricing, Maintenance, Environmental

Education/Special Training:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Macalester College (St. Paul, MN)

Nancy has been with Croix Oil Company since 2007.  Nancy’s diverse responsibilities include delivery forecasting and product pricing functions for dealers, as well as organization of Croix Oil Company’s site maintenance and environmental programs.  Nancy has worked in the petroleum marketing and related industries since 1974.

Kevin W. Koenig

General Manager, Wholesale

  • Fuels Retailing Certificate from the ExxonMobil Center of Retail Excellence (Sterling, VA)

Since coming to Croix Oil Company in 1997, Kevin has held a variety of positions with Croix Oil Company.  In his current position, he oversees all branded and unbranded wholesale accounts.  As such, he is tasked with making sure the needs of our wholesale customers are consistently being met.  Kevin’s other major job functions include:  supervising all Brand Managers; ensuring customers are realizing the benefits of branding programs, coordinating the marketing communication activities of Croix Oil Company and assisting dealers with their marketing initiatives.

Michael Miller

Director of Finance

Education/Special Training:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana University (Bloomington, IN)
  • Certified Public Accountant, Minnesota

Mike has served as Croix Oil Company’s Director of Finance since early 2016. Prior to working at Croix, Mike has worked in the accounting departments of private companies for over two decades. For Croix, Mike is ultimately responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s financial policies, procedures, and reports.

Jennifer Moen

Circle K-Account Manager

Education/Special Training:

  • Completed Circle K franchise management training
  • Certified as a Class C Underground Storage Tank Operator by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency
  • Food Manager Certificate from the Minnesota Department of Health

Prior to coming to Croix Oil Company, Jennifer spent over 20 years in the retail industry having worked her way from an entry level cashier position to become a convenience store manager, where she gained fourteen years of experience. Jennifer joined Croix Oil Company in 2012 as the employee primarily responsible for our Circle K convenience store accounts. As the Circle K Account Manager, Jennifer assists Circle K dealers with franchise requirement compliance, maximizing the profitablilty of their convenience stores and the successful implementation/utilization of the numerous Circle K promotions and advantages.

Paul W. Muilenberg

Manager of Corporate Affairs

  • Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management
  • License to Practice Law in the State of Minnesota
  • Certified as a Class A and Class B Underground Storage Tank Operator by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency

Paul has served as Manager of Corporate Affairs and in-house legal counsel for Croix Oil Company since 2001. He has performed legal services within the petroleum industry since becoming an attorney in 1997. In addition to negotiating contracts, overseeing transactions, and managing risk for the Company, Paul oversees all environmental matters for Croix Oil Company, including underground storage tank and dispensing regulatory compliance, as well as release prevention planning and response activities.  In addition to his legal duties, Paul actively participates in strategic planning and general business decision making for Croix.

Mark J. Ogren

President

Education/Special Training:

  • Masters of Business Administration in Business Management from the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN)
  • Bachelor of Arts in Financial Management from University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN)
  • Real Estate Broker’s License in the State of Minnesota

Mark grew-up in the family business doing various jobs and duties over the years.  Mark became a full-time employee with Croix Oil Company in 1985 and has held positions in multiple areas of the organization.  He is currently the sole owner of Croix Oil Company and has been the President since 1995.  Mark is a hands-on President who is actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the company.  Although all Croix Oil Company customers have specific managers assigned to assist them with their needs, Mark strongly believes that it is ultimately his job to ensure customers’ needs are being met.  As such, Mark prides himself on knowing customers personally, and encourages customers to contact him directly with any concerns they may have.

Dreux B. Shopbell

General Manager, Retail

Dreux has been with Croix Oil Company since 1999, serving in various roles in retail operations.  In his current position, Dreux works closely with our Brand Managers to help our customers maximize sales and profitability.  In addition, Dreux oversees our company-operated stores.  His responsibilities relating to our stores, allow Dreux to develop programs, vendor relationships, promotions, POS interface solutions, back office systems, and marketing strategies, all of which can be shared with our customers.  Dreux has more than 20 years of experience in the convenience store industry.  During those years, he has managed stores, opened new stores, served as a District Manager and is now a General Manager.  Dreux has a thorough understanding of all aspects of convenience store operations, including:  POS systems, petroleum and convenience store equipment operation, employee recruiting, hiring and training, financial analysis and profit margin maximization.

Michele Smith

Michele has been with Croix Oil Company since 2006, serving as the Brand Manager for all BP-branded locations. As such, she works closely with BP-branded customers to assist with various procedures, programs and promotions, achieving top-notch site images and maximizing convenience store profitability. Michele has over 20 years of experience in the convenience store industry. During those years, she has managed convenience stores, opened new convenience stores and trained convenience store personnel. Michele has expertise in POS systems, tank monitor systems, back office systems, and is well trained in the environment regulatory requirements related to underground storage tank and dispensing equipment.

Deb Vandinburg

Controller

Education/Special Training:

  • Completed coursework in Financial Accounting and Economics through the University of Minnesota Extension Program
  • Associates Degree in Accounting from Hennepin County Technical College (Minneapolis, MN)

Deb has worked in accounting since 1975, and has specifically worked in the petroleum business since 1979. Deb is Croix Oil Company’s longest tenured employee (other than owner Mark Ogren), having started with the company in 1988. As the Controller, Deb oversees all aspects of accounts receivable, accounts payable, pricing, payroll, banking and many other areas. Deb also performs most of the human resource functions for the company. In addition to these responsibilities, Deb manages all office administrative personnel.
